February 7, 2013. Joseph Poffenberger Farm. Antietam Battlefield. Sharpsburg, MD. To answer an earlier question, no, I don't live next to the battlefield but I do live within 15 minutes of it. I love to go there as often as possible because it is so lovely and peaceful. There are miles and miles of beautiful trails to hike and so many interesting and historic things to photograph. It's also close to the C & O Canal, which is a big favorite of mine and a wonderful old fashioned ice cream shop in Sharpsburg which I frequent probably much too often.
